Innovation allowing more personalized treatment

Advances in biology and bioinformatics have enabled unprecedented analysis of human genes and proteins, leading to the development of new molecular tests for the diagnosis and treatment of life-threatening and chronic diseases.

The emergence of new technologies provides the ability to design innovative diagnostic tools and develop new, targeted therapies based on a detailed understanding of the molecular pathways and biomarkers that lead to specific diseases.

In clinical practice, new molecular tests will help physicians select medicines for individual patients that will have the greatest efficacy and the lowest probability of harmful side effects. These tests will help detect disease at early stages, segment diseases, monitor disease progression and therapy response, and perhaps identify disease predisposition in the future.
