Novartis was created in 1996 through the merger of Ciba-Geigy and Sandoz. Throughout the years, Novartis and its predecessor companies have discovered and developed innovative products for patients and consumers worldwide.
Founders
Novartis first began trading of its ads on the NYSE
On May 11, 2000, at the historic bell-ringing ceremony at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), Novartis first began the trading of its American Depositary Shares (ADSs) on the NYSE. Key scientists
Scientist Albert Hofmann inventor of LSD
Sandoz scientist Dr. Albert Hofmann (1906 - 2008).He worked for over forty years in Sandoz, until retiring in 1971. He discovered the hallucinogenic effects of LSD in 1943.
