Our Molecular Diagnostics Unit reflects our key capabilities for Novartis Pharmaceuticals, including strengthening the ability to develop biomarkers and companion diagnostics to stratify patients, identify responders, and radically increase positive outcomes.

We are currently seeking an innovative, fast-moving, open and collaborative team of talented people with diverse backgrounds, both functionally and technically. Novartis Molecular Diagnostics is looking to expand its work force with professionals at all levels in both Cambridge, Massachusetts and in Basel, Switzerland.

Potential career opportunities span a broad spectrum of areas, including:

• Nucleic acid-based assay development
  Establish functional excellence in nucleic acid amplification testing (NAT) assay chemistry and areas relevant to molecular diagnostic product development. Provide technical input and recommendations to cross-functional teams.

• Bioinformatics and biostatistics
  Build bioinformatics and biostatistics functions and drive metric-based decision-making and tools. Collaborate with scientists in R&D, Clinical and Regulatory Affairs, Business Development and other areas to gather data analysis and software requirements.

• Global diagnostic development programs
  Develop and implement the strategy and plan for a diagnostic development program with a focus on ensuring regulatory approval, technical market access and optimized commercial value for a diagnostic test.

• Global marketing and market access
  Drive brand strategy and craft appropriate market entry strategy as well as conduct market review of business development opportunities, merger and acquisition (M&A) candidates, partnering arrangements, etc.
